Story of a young boy who worked @ Radical Minds
The unexpected death of a family member is emotionally devastating for those left behind. Add in the financial implications of losing the family’s main income earner and it can be downright terrifying for those left behind.
Each family is unique, and a family’s individual circumstances dictate the severity of the financial impact of the death of a breadwinner.
This story is of a young and energetic Boy who came to work for us and soon became an important and contributing member of his team. as fate would have it, he met wit an accident on the road and succumbed to his injurers. his passing away came as a shock for all of us, but were really saddened knowing that he was the main bread earner for the family.
He was survived by his mother and a sister and they were left to cope with his death and the trauma of planning how to run the house financially along with some pending loans.
Since some of the team members had visited him house post his demise, they came back with this situational update and pledged to do something about it. so we all came together as a team and contributed whatever money team members wanted to contribute and the company matched the amount and we shared this money with the family to clear off all pending loans and we decided to continue sending out his salary for the next year to the surviving mother and sister. this helped then to plan the next steps to managing the family affairs and were relieved of the pressure of repaying a loan and income for the whole year.
you see when the main earning member dies, the family looses a son and a brother, but they also loose the income that was coming in. this team gesture made us all bond even better and it felt amazing to be able to contribute positively.
No matter your family situation, you should plan ahead for financial protection/backup. While no one likes to think about the possibility of an unanticipated loss, having these protections (insurances) in place can be a great comfort in the event the worst happens.
we are proud to have sock an amazing set of team players.
